Kylie Fitzgibbons is the Community Engagement Chair for Leia's Kids, a national 501(c)(3) based in McKinney that walks alongside children and families facing childhood cancer with financial grants, Royal Deliveries, mental health retreats, advocacy and the Hope Library. She connects business owners, volunteers and donors with the work, including the annual Hope in the Kingdom gala.
Problems Kylie solves
Childhood cancer brings costs insurance never covers: travel to a hospital or clinical trial, child care for siblings, time away from work. Leia's Kids financial grants cover these unexpected expenses so parents can stay at the bedside.
Royal Deliveries are packages sent from Princess Marygold's Castle to children in treatment, a reminder that each child is loved, known and royal. Families apply online, and donors and sponsors fund the deliveries.
All-inclusive mental health retreats for patients ages 17 to 24 help them adjust to life with cancer, and a Mother–Daughter Retreat recognizes that moms and daughters fight together.
Companies sponsor the Hope in the Kingdom gala, fund Royal Deliveries, sponsor one of the 20 North Texas families who receive a Christmas dinner and gifts each year, or form a business partnership. Kylie is the point of contact for getting involved.
The foundation runs a Junior Board, student internships, warrior parties and a Beach Bash, and takes in-kind donations and Amazon wishlist items. Volunteers are matched to the gala, deliveries and events.

★★★★★3 years agoI cannot say enough great things about Leia’s Kids and what they do for families affected by childhood cancer on a consistent, caring, intentional basis. Leia and her team are fantastic and they do incredible things!
★★★★★3 years agoGreat Impact! Leia's Kids is an extraordinary charity organization that has truly captured my heart. Their unwavering commitment to improving the lives of children is nothing short of remarkable.
★★★★★3 years agoI’ve watched Leia’s Kids dedicate themselves to the children and their families battling childhood cancer for over a year now. This is a non profit with its heart in right place. Leia and her staff are committed to helping these families with everything they can possibly do to make life better in a situation I could never imagine myself dealing with. Leia’s Kids is a non profit that is local to Texas and we all should give generously to this effort. Talk about doing the right thing. This is a great cause!
★★★★★3 years agoLeia's Kids is a great nonprofit bringing joy to kids and their families in times when they need it the most. Leia and her team are a blessing.
★★★★★3 years agoLeia is a superstar in the ministry & non-profit world. Take a moment and imagine a doctor tells your little boy or girl has stage 4 cancer and isn't going to survive. Leia comes along side these families in crisis, help facilitate a "crowning party", asks about that families greatest need & delivers!!! WOW!!! But what makes her so special is she went through this as a child and the empathy and cc I've witnessed is one of the most Christ-like things I've ever had the privilege to see with my own eyes.
About
Kylie Fitzgibbons serves as Community Engagement Chair for Leia's Kids Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in McKinney, Texas. The foundation was started by Leia Hunt Toellner, a two-time childhood cancer survivor who founded it at 18 while still in high school. Its stated mission is to bring hope, joy and support to children and families facing childhood cancer, and to remind every child they are loved, known and royal.
The programs are concrete. Financial grants help parents cover treatment travel, including clinical trials, and child care. Royal Deliveries send packages from Princess Marygold's Castle to children in treatment. All-inclusive mental health retreats serve adolescent and young adult patients ages 17 to 24, and a separate mother-daughter retreat is offered. The Hope Library publishes books and journals for children, including a grief journal for siblings. The foundation also advocates for federal childhood cancer legislation and sponsors North Texas families at Christmas.
Kylie's role is to bring the community in: gala sponsors, business partners, donors, teachers and student volunteers. The annual fundraiser is the Hope in the Kingdom Royal Ball in Frisco. Her day job is hospitality experience strategy and keynote speaking through Service with a Smile, which she founded.
Teachers and student volunteers, business owners and philanthropic individuals who believe in supporting pediatric cancer awareness, whether as a volunteer, a sponsor or a generous donor. Anyone whose values align with the cause and who wants to support it.
Works alongside: Works alongside anyone aligned with the foundation's values who supports the cause: business owners, event venues and caterers, schools and student groups, hospitals and pediatric oncology teams, and donors.
