Problems Ben solves
Sound familiar?
A soft, peeling window sill
Flaking paint, spongy wood and discoloration near a window usually mean rot in the sill or frame. Preservan removes the decayed fibers, stabilizes the sound wood with a marine-grade consolidator, rebuilds the missing section with structural epoxy and finishes it, and the window stays.
A door jamb or threshold that keeps failing
Entry, French and patio doors, jambs and thresholds take the weather first. Google reviewers describe hundred-year-old front doors that had been patched repeatedly finally fixed; Preservan says many of its projects replace failed handyman or painter repairs.
Being told the only fix is replacement
Preservan says 80 to 90 percent of wood rot cases can be repaired without replacing the window or door, at 30 to 90 percent less than replacement, and without the demolition, lead times and matching problems replacement brings.
Original windows and trim on an older or historic home
The company specializes in retaining original materials, profiles and architectural details, and its client list includes historic homes, churches, schools and architecturally significant commercial buildings.
Porch posts, columns and deck posts gone soft at the base
Structural components such as porch posts, columns, beam ends, subfloor sections and deck post bases are stabilized and rebuilt, including wood weakened by termites or other insects, often without major reconstruction.
A gray, weathered fence or deck
Fence and deck staining starts with washing and brightening, then low-VOC transparent, semi-transparent or solid stain applied by sprayer and brush, usually finished in one day with before-and-after photos and upkeep guidance.

★★★★★7 months agoWhat an amazing experience! This company was incredible. We googled several companies and Preservan had impressive credentials regarding Wood Rot and Water Damage Repair for the Exterior of our home. Their owner Ben who is a Mechanical Engineer, has a very effective epoxy process. We should not have any problems for many years. I spoke with Ben on Tuesday, we approved the quote and Jonathan, his Ops Manager and Fernando, one of his technicians arrived at 9 AM on Wednesday morning ready to get to work. These gentlemen provided great teamwork, were very professional, and kept the job site very clean.
★★★★★3 months agoI am so happy to have found a trusted resource to restore and repair the windows and doors in our historic home! Very easy to schedule, transparent pricing, professional technicians and quality work. Our 100 year old door looks as good as new!
★★★★★11 months agoOur 100yr old front door has been through so many repairs for wood rot but believe we finally found the right solution. Work was just completed this week so time will tell but extremely pleased with the process, communication and professionalism of the entire team. Would highly recommend Preservan.
★★★★★3 months agoThe Preservan team provided a thorough estimate of the work and completed the process in a thorough and timely manner at the estimated cost. The team of workmen were personal, professional, well-organized and very neat which was important because the project involved working from both inside and outside the second-floor windows. They report their projects often involve repairing prior, failed repairs by handymen and painters not experienced in making wood rot repairs that last.
★★★★★a year agoLooks good as new! Super quick, everyone was professional and easily worked around my schedule. I didn’t have the correct paint color at the time of the repair so they just primed it for me and I was able to paint later
About
Ben Henderson
Ben Henderson is the local owner of Preservan Dallas. Instead of tearing out a rotted window sill or door jamb and replacing it, his team removes the decayed material and rebuilds the section in place with Everesin, a marine-grade structural epoxy, then recreates the original molding and trim profiles so the repair disappears. The result keeps original wood windows and architectural details that are expensive or impossible to replace.
Every job follows three steps: diagnose the extent of the rot, preserve the wood with the repair or a preventive treatment, and protect it with finish and color-matched paint. Most projects take one to three days, and clients receive before-and-after photos. Epoxy repairs carry a ten-year warranty. Beyond rot repair, Preservan Dallas restores decks and porches, applies preventive treatments and stains and washes fences and decks.
The work is mostly for homeowners, especially in older neighborhoods with wood windows, though the portfolio includes churches, schools and commercial buildings. Crews use dust extraction and products the company describes as eco-friendly and pet safe. Service covers Dallas, including Uptown, Oak Lawn, Bishop Arts and Deep Ellum, plus Addison, Carrollton, Richardson, Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, Garland, Rockwall and Wylie.
Why clients choose Ben
- Repairs in place with structural epoxy rather than tearing out original wood, at a fraction of replacement cost
- Most jobs done in one to three days with before-and-after photos and a clean site
- Ten-year warranty, which the company describes as one of the longest in the industry
Who should call

Also a realtor whose listing or inspection report flags wood rot, or an owner of an older or historic property who wants the original windows kept.
Preservan does not provide termite treatment or pest control, and it is not a general handyman or window replacement company.
Works alongside: Works alongside realtors, window washers and historic home experts, who are usually the first to spot wood rot.

Read the guideQuestions people ask Ben
Is epoxy repair as strong as replacing the wood?
Preservan rebuilds the damaged section with Everesin, a marine-grade structural epoxy that chemically bonds to the wood, and says the repair becomes stronger than the original lumber. The repair is finished to match and carries a ten-year warranty.
How long does a repair take?
Most repairs are completed in about a day; larger or multi-area projects take two to three days. Staining projects are usually finished in one day.
Can you save original wood windows?
Yes. Repairing sills, sashes and frames in place is the core of the work, and Preservan says 80 to 90 percent of wood rot cases can be fixed without replacing the window or door.
What does it cost compared with replacement?
Preservan says most repairs cost 30 to 90 percent less than full replacement. Price depends on the severity of the rot, the size and location of the component, accessibility such as second-floor windows, finishing, and removal of poor prior repairs. The inspection is free.
Do you treat termites?
No. Preservan repairs wood weakened by termites and other insects but does not provide termite treatment or pest control.
